Summary of the Fable
It is a Fable of an Ant and Grasshopper. The Ant was collecting food in the summer for winter while the Grasshopper was singing on a leaf. When winter comes, the Grasshopper did not have anything to eat.

The Ant and the Grasshopper.

In my opinion, I think that the message between Maugham’s story and Aesop Fable, of the Ant and the Grasshopper are different for the fallowing reasons.   First, in the Ant and the Grasshopper story, the Ant never gives the Grasshopper anything.   Second, in the Maugham’s story, George worked very hard because he wanted has money for his future. George has a brother who name is Tom.  Tom did not like to work and his brother had to give him money. Tom liked to get everything easily without any effort. The two stories have the same context but the end is very different becasue Tom became rich and the Grasshopper no.

 " The Ant and Gasshopper"

I think that I am like the Ant because I always think in the future.   I like to save money for any emergency. I like to be prepared for the future and that is why I am in college. I never let what I can do today for tomorrow because I do not what would happen tomorrow.

"The Friendship Bond."

According to this article the friendships are in trouble because these days we do not know who to trust.   For example, in the article say that almost 60 percent felt that many of their friendships are not completely reciprocal. In my opinion, I think that a friendship without trust will not last. If you do not believe in that person, you will not feel comfortable with your friend. Sometime we need to tell a friend our secret but if we do not trust them, we are not going to tell them anything.

On day, I was on the G train going to home and I witness a big conflict.  It began when two persons got in the train arguing that her boyfriend was with her friend.  They began to curse one to another but a man stopped them and he told them that they are a lot of men in the world. He continued telling them that they are very young and beautiful and they would found somebody else better than that man.  The two girls stopped and they left the train separately in different direction.

The conflict at that moment was resulted because they stopped arguing and they left the train in different direction.
In my opion, It was result in good way because they not fought.

Opinion and Interpretation

The story Sunday in the Park by Bel Kaufman is about how children intimidate other children because they want to. We call that bullying.  The big problem is that their parents know about these children and they do nothing to help and teach them that it is not the proper way to behave. I like the story because show both sides.  It has some difficult vocabulary but with the use of a dictionary I understood it better.

Summary of Sunday in the Park by Kaufman

The story Sunday in the park by Bel Kaufman is a story about a very common situation that happen most of the time in schools, parks and other places.  It takes place in a park at a sandbox.  A couple sitting on a bench and their son Larry playing in the sandbox, but there is another kid who name is Joe playing in the sandbox and this kid throws sand on Larry. Larry’s parents are furious about the behavior of the boy. Larry’s mother looks for his mother, but she only founds a big man reading a comic. The parents complain about the husky boy but the only reply they get is: "You go right ahead, Joe. Throw all you want. This here is a public sandbox." The father of Larry, his name is Morton, is ready to get excited. But in the end he has no chance, because the father of Larry is too strong and determined, he stays and let his son do what he wants.  Morton, Larry and his mother leaved the playground. On the way to their home Larry cries because Larry wants to play in the sandbox. In this situation Morton lost control. In the end he makes a move towards the boy.

Reading Interpretation

This is a very interesting non-fiction story because it tells us how doctors and scientists worked at that time.  The author try to tell us the importance of Henrietta’s cells and the discovery that scientist did with her cells through.  The writer wrote about Henrietta's family and how the years passed and her family did not know what happened with Henrietta's cell until years later.  I like this story because we can learn about the first immortal cells and who was the person behind it.

Summary of Henrietta Lacks' Immortal cells

The author explained who was Henrietta Lacks, why her cells were so important for scientists and the world, how she got interested in Henrietta, when Henrietta’s family found out about her cells and what are the lessons from this history.   For example, they took her cells to see how cells worked and test theories causes and treatments of diseases.  In 1951, at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, it was the first place that had the first immortal human cell line from Henrietta's cervical cancer.   Her cells when to space and it helped to develop the polio vaccine and so on.
